Learn about the approaches that are being talked about and express your opinions on how best to approach climate change.
Should we:
- Concentrate on adopting policies to compel reductions in human-generated greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere?
- Prepare our urban and rural communities for the anticipated effects of climate change?
- Stimulate innovative technologies to protect the planet?
National issues forums are structured deliberations that inform participants of available approaches to addressing social problems, and elicit the in-depth responses of those participants. The objective is to conduct constructive conversations on challenging issues so that participants can clarify and express their own perceptions, values and preferences. No expertise is needed to participate.
The responses of forum participants to various approaches are entered into a database maintained by the National Issues Forum Institute, whose leading sponsor is the Kettering Foundation of Ohio. NIFI then publishes a report analyzing the data collected from all the forums conducted around the country.
