Victim Advocate

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Victim Advocate is responsible for providing crisis intervention and advocacy to survivors of sexual assault and their loved ones. The Victim Advocate meets with clients during business hours, responds to calls on the hotline and provide advocacy for survivors who present at the SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners). The Victim Advocate also provide legal advocacy as needed.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Other duties include maintaining accurate files and records of each service provided in accordance with agency standards. The Victim Advocate may be asked to be back-up and on call during night and weekend hours.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field
A minimum of one year direct service experience
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Must be willing to work with other agencies and participate in outreach activities
Ability to adhere to strict standards of confidentiality
Must obtain Criminal Records Background clearance
Access to own vehicle and telephone
Bi-Lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
