Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Paws and Stripes, a non-profit, 501c3 organization, is dedicated to improving the lives of military veterans and shelter dogs with an integrative animal assisted therapy program. We are seeking a Team Trainer to join our dynamic team and help veterans and their dogs complete training through our programs.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The primary functions of the job include working directly with veteran clients in co-training rescue dogs for our service dog program, companion animal program, and other as needed dog training; case management; assisting in bettering program information; working with shelter dogs. Work closely with Senior trainer and the Programs team to meet the goals of the organization.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Exceptional communication skills, time management, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team are considered fundamental to success in this organization. Preferred, 2 years’ experience in dog training. Experience with military culture, post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury are preferred.
