Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Paws and Stripes, a non-profit, 501c3 organization is dedicated to improving the lives of military veterans and shelter dogs with an integrative animal assisted therapy program. We are seeking a Mental Health Counselor to join our dynamic team to provide mental health services to our veteran enrollees and their families. Works closely with and reports to the Director of Mental Health to meet the enrollment goals of the organization.

Additional Areas of Responsibility:

Experience with military culture, post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injury are preferred. This position will be expected to work in-office and may be required to travel via personal vehicle to offsite meetings, trainings, events, and partner locations. This is a full-time, benefits eligible position. Must love people and dogs.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Minimum Qualifications: Master's Degree in Psychology, Counseling or Social Work. New Mexico Licensure as LBSW, LMSW, LISW, LPCC, LMHC, LMFT or LPAT. LISW is preferred. (Failure to obtain full licensure or loss of licensure will disqualify the person from meeting the minimum requirements). Exceptional communication skills, interpersonal skills, time management, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team are considered fundamental to success in this organization.
