Advocacy Director

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Advocacy Director will attend meetings related to early childhood education and homelessness, and will lead a cohort of parent advocates who monitor legislation, and develop advocacy strategies.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

• Attend and participate in legislative hearings, workgroups, committees, and other meetings
• Lead a cohort of parent advocates by developing and executing a program action plan
• Plan and participate in community education events including organizing a two-day roundtable event
addressing early childhood education and homelessness post-COVID
• Create a case study on improving early childhood systems by making them more responsive to families
experiencing homelessness

Other Information/Requirements: 

• 2+ years of experience in advocacy or related activities
• Bachelor’s Degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Communications, or related field of study
• Experience with issues related to early childhood education and homelessness
• Experience working directly with legislators and other advocates
• Familiarity with city, county, and state legislative and budget processes
• Knowledge of trauma informed practices

$60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
