United Way of Eastern New Mexico
Uniting Neighbors and Changing Lives through improvements in Education, Income & Health for residents of Curry and Roosevelt Counties.
Community Fund Grants: Grants are made to local agencies that go through a rigorous review process including written proposal with budget and presentation. 40-50 volunteers from our community make the final decisions. Donor Options Funds include donations designated through UWENM.
Community Building Activities: United Way staff and volunteers participate, plan, lead and support various events and activities in our community in conjunction and collaboration with many other non-profits and government agencies. These events promote healthy lifestyle choices for our citizens and bring awareness to issues with our community, eg. Health & Wellness Day, Day of Caring, Teen Summit, Linking Arms Linking Lives.
2-1-1 Information and Helpline for residents of Curry and Roosevelt Counties: 211 is busy all year round: assisting hundreds of people and families in need to find the agencies that can help, coordinating and screening for certain services, improving network of care through increased inter-agency communications, maintaining a database of over 300 local, state, and national programs, and expanding access to local programs.
