Leadership New Mexico
Leadership New Mexico is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3), tax-exempt organization founded to identify current and emerging leaders throughout New Mexico, enhance their leadership skills and deepen their knowledge of the challenges and opportunities facing our state.
The Core Program is a ten-month program with sessions designed to address critical issues in New Mexico. Each program session features expert speakers and offers an opportunity for inquiry, analysis, and the development of solutions to some of New Mexico’s most pressing problems. Each program year includes educational sessions on topics such as:
• Health and human services
• Economic development
• Education
• Energy
• Environment
• Natural resources
• Government
• Crime
• Justice
The Local Government Leadership Program is an educational partnership between the New Mexico Municipal League, the New Mexico Association of Counties, the New Mexico National Guard, the New Mexico School Boards Association and Leadership New Mexico. These organizations joined together to provide an educational program for municipal and county officials, members of the National Guard, school boards and regional councils of governments. The program offers civic leaders the opportunity to explore the critical issues facing New Mexico and to participate in skill-building workshops.
Connect New Mexico, “The Next Generation of Leadership,” is a program for professionals, ages 25-40. The program offers young professionals the opportunity to develop personal leadership skills, learn how New Mexico systems and structures work, and explore the critical issues facing the state.
