The Office of Economic Empowerment(OEE) supports HELP-New Mexico’s mission to create self-sufficiency and promote economic opportunities to strengthen families throughout New Mexico through our programs that provide job training, job placements, education, supportive and emergency services to unemployed and underemployed individuals, youth, seniors, the homeless and migrant and seasonal farmworkers throughout the State of New Mexico. The work readiness programs, along with the supportive services we provide, have the ultimate goal of helping low income New Mexicans achieve a higher level of self-sufficiency and aid in the development of a trained and skilled workforce.
Our 2015-2016 yearly objective in support of our New Mexico communities is to provide 5,593 services to 4,300 individuals and/or families. Specifically, we plan to provide:
(1) 544 services to individuals to improve their skills or job status through job training activities.
(2) 2,693 services to individuals to improve their current skills for their job and/or to increase their skills in order to advance in their present or future occupation by providing for educational opportunities, and
(3) 2,500 services to individuals and/or families with employment and training supportive services which will help them continue attending training, help them get books or materials they may need for training. i.e. lab coats or tools, food or help with utilitie
