Mission Statement:

To provide leadership, vision, and support to ensure the availability and diversity of the arts in Lea County.

Primary Programs:

Lea County Commission for the Arts is a non-profit partner of New Mexico Arts; the objective of the commission is to promote excellence in the further development of the visual, literary and performing arts in Lead County. Core Programs to be continued yearly:

• Weekly elementary art classes

• Elementary art exhibit by Hobbs schools

• Annual Lea County high school art exhibit

• Artist in Residency Program with Hobbs Public Schools

• Adult Art Classes

• Monthly art exhibits with public receptions

• Summer youth performing and visual art camps (June)

• Multi-cultural events, Black History/Hispanic Heritage

• Book signings for authors

• Gift Shoppe, outlet for local artists, Ticket Center
