Sew Right
The mission of Sew Right is to promote creativity and entrepreneurship through the operation of a not-for-profit school for interior design fabrication.
Sew Right provides free training in the workroom fabrication business. This includes sewing throw pillows, window treatments, banco cushions, slipcovers and upholstery for the custom interior design industry.
Our students are referred to us by other community service organizations such as PB&J Family Services and Catholic Charities.
Sew Right Skills 101 -eight weekly three hour classes covering throw pillows, boxed cushions, window treatments and slipcovers.
Sew Right 102 Mothers and Daughters class - suggested by a student and whole-heartedly adopted.
Sew Right 103 - a skill-building lab in which students can practice and improve their basic skills. Some students may move on from this point and find work in the field.
Sew Right Business 201- will teach motivated students the essentials of starting and running a successful business while honing skills and helping 101 students.
Upholstery 202- eight weekly three hour classes covering all aspects of furniture upholstering.
Sew Right 301- a mentor program for students who have obtained a business license and are ready to work with clients independently.
