Mission Statement:

The mission of the Friends of the Library (FOL) is to promote the Alamogordo Public Library in cooperation with the Alamogordo Public Library Advisory Board, the Alamogordo Public Library Foundation, and the library staff and to maintain an association of persons interested in books and libraries.

Primary Programs:

FOL runs a variety of programs to draw people into the library and to encourage reading. We schedule a number of one-time events throughout the year, such as book signings, and each year we run the Adult Reading Challenge (January and February), the library's birthday celebration (March), Banned Books Week (September), and One City One Book (October-November). We also operate a public book club that meets monthly in the library.
