Katharsis Media is a non-profit organization that strives:
To educate, entertain, and inspire the community through the performing arts, with a special emphasis on theatre, dance, and film.
To provide a living wage for performing artists who teach, create, direct, and produce.
To foster and develop, through workshops and other appropriate means, the artistic talents and skills of company members and other interested persons.
To reward and recognize artists in the community through awards, prizes, and scholarships.
Katharsis Media accomplishes its mission through production of film and theatrical projects, internships, classes, camps, workshops and scholarships.
Artist Co-Op
Our Artist Co-Op was created to help artists build a sustainable way of life. So often, we find ourselves taking on multiple jobs and creating art in our spare time. This often leaves us feeling unsatisfied and our art does not get the focus it deserves.
The Katharsis Artist Co-Op strives to provide:
space for rehearsals and events
a living wage for all artists with Katharsis Contracts
resources and support
opportunities to grow as an artist and entrepreneur
a community of fellow artists and friends.
Broadway Bound LIVE
Broadway Bound LIVE is our flagship production and our largest project each year.
This docu-series is a semester long training and scholarship program designed specifically for low income individuals who desire to become Broadway professionals. Participants train weekly in dance, acting, and vocal performance with incredible artists. Throughout the semester, participants compete in rounds of elimination in front of a live studio audience to award one participant a Director's Scholarship to the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City.
Classes & Workshops
Katharsis Media is dedicated to providing quality training in the performing arts for artists of all ages abs abilities. These programs run year round and are taught by working artists and industry professionals.
Production services:
From school pride videos to feature length films, Katharsis Media is always looking for new projects to support.
Basic production services begin at $150 per hour and include:
-Production supervisor
-Camera operator
-Sound Engineer
-Production Assistant
-lighting, audio, and cinematography equipment
-general liability insurance
This is a good start for a small event or film with a small cast. You may choose to add extra camera operators, production assistants, or include a script supervisor, 1st AD or Director of Photography.
Editing services are billed separately at a starting rate of $300 per final cut hour. Inclusion of special effects or foley sound design are also available.
In addition to our below the line crew, we also have many extremely talented directors, writers, and casting directors available to meet the needs of your project.
