Hero's Path Palliative Care
To enhance the daily quality of life for children with serious illness(es) and their families by providing compassionate, family-centered palliative care, respite care and hospice care, either in-home or in a home-like medical facility, and by fostering an environment filled with hope, happiness, and wholeness.
We will do this by providing:
1) holistic child and family-centered care focused on unique serious illnesses;
2) access to a care team with expertise in compassionate care of children from diagnosis to end-of-life;
3) a shared focus on creating the best possible day, every day for their individual child and family; and,
4) a space that honors life and offers hope on their individual journey
We will provide home-based pediatric palliative care with an interdisciplinary medical team for children and families with serious illness in New Mexico. Once we are established and can expand, we will build or renovate a home-like facility where children with serious illness can go for a fun and engaging respite experience so caregivers can refresh. If the child needs end of life services and the child and family would like to use our facilities at this time, we will provide compassionate and holistic end of life care. We will provide educational opportunities for siblings, the child, family members, medical staff, and the community, fostering a more unified medical system for children with complex diseases.
