Artful Life projects are designed to transform communities through the beauty and power of collaborative art.

Primary Programs:

* Stories of the Route 66: The International District - This project includes a range of programs involving collaboration with the International District community of Albuquerque: arts engagement, creative placemaking, public art, Global 505 coalition, Refugee Mentoring Project, Migration Experience Film/Discussion Series, The International District Health Fair, Avenue ID.

* El Puente/The Bridge - This project utilizes collaborative art to create and strengthen community relationships and transform public places  in Albuquerque's Barelas and South Valley neighborhoods, along the Rio Grande. El Puente is also endorsed by the following project partners: La Red del Río Abajo, a network of community organizations serving South Valley and Barelas: Agri-Cultura Network/La Cosecha CSA, Peanut Butter & Jelly Family Services, Valle Encantado, New Mexico Immigrant Law Center, Partnership for Community Action, Encuentro, Prosperity Works, Enlace Comunitario, and Centro Sávila. Additional project partners: the National Hispanic Cultural Center (NHCC) and Working Classroom.

* EKCO Poets (formerly "Four Poets Respond") - Inspired by a collaboration between poets Valerie Martínez and Maureen Seaton  in 2009.  Concerned about the waning public interest in contemporary poetry, Martínez and Seaton engaged fellow women poets in an unusual process that embraced ekphrasis, collaboration, and spoken word performance.  Each year since, Martinez has engaged with a group of women poets to write and co-create an original poetic performance piece in response to works of art, earth, and issues of urgency to women. EKCO (EKphrasis + COllaboration) integrates literary poetry with the vitality of performance, bringing new and enthusiastic audiences to contemporary poetry.

* Women and Creativity - An annual, month-long series that celebrates women’s creativity across the disciplines. March 2016, will mark the 11th anniversary of the program.
