Family Promise of Albuquerque
To assist homeless families with children, in the Albuquerque community,to achieve and sustain independence.
Family Promise of Albuquerque's Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) program provides transitional shelter for families with children. Families are sheltered in faith congregations which furnish clean, safe, overnight lodging in their facilities, nutritious meals, and family fun activities. Each family has their own private space to stay together. During the day families are transported to school and/ or our day center where they can shower, do laundry, get mail, get children enrolled in childcare, have computer & phone access and work with a case manager. Each family is worked with intensively to build job skills, find employment, childcare, obtain needed ID documents, and find housing. The average stay in the program is 52 days. A majority of families find employment and housing within this time. Families are also offered 18 months of follow up stabilization services to assist in sustaining their independence.
