Our mission is to improve quality of life for disadvantaged youth through creative literacy and wellness programs and to encourage youth empowerment through the arts..
ALPHA Literacy is an evidence-based listening program for youth with reading challenges. The children take part in creative hands-on projects while listening to classical music that has been specially modified to improve their language and cognitive skills. According to university studies, participants gain on average 2.3 grade levels in reading comprehension and fluency in 30 sessions. Wellness through the Arts provides arts-based stress reduction activities, such as music, dance, art therapy, and journaling, for women and children in vulnerable circumstances, such as domestic violence shelters.
Eating Smart (ES) is a wellness program for disadvantaged youth which provides fitness, healthy snacks, community gardening, and nutritional guidance lessons through the arts.
The Art and Literacy Encounter is a listening program for all ages which combines the components of ALPHA Literacy with additional art and literacy extension activities. Our non-profit has also organized several community gardening projects in south central New Mexico since 2007.
