Rio Grande Food Project
The Food Project serves the most vulnerable in the community by providing the entire household a week’s worth of food once every month.
The Rio Grande Food Project provides emergency food to the most vulnerable in the Albuquerque metro area. We are the second largest food pantry in the city (the largest on Albuquerque's west side). The agency is open Mon, Wed, Fri 10-2 and Sat 9-12. Food boxes are distributed according the number of persons in the household and include commodities, fresh produce/bread, dry, canned and frozen food. We serve the most vulnerable in our community including children (35%), the elderly (15%) and adults living with food insecurities (50%). More than 75% of our clients are racial ethnic minorities.
