New Vistas partners with and supports people with disabilities and families of children with special needs to enrich their quality of life in New Mexico.
New Vistas promotes independence and self-reliance through a variety of community-based services for persons with disabilities and children with special needs and their families.
We are a Center for Independent Living incorporated in the state of New Mexico. New Vistas currently serves over 1,000 consumers (adults and children) throughout New Mexico and employs approximately 50 staff.
Early Childhood Services provides family-centered early intervention services to children (birth through 3 years of age), who have or are at risk for developmental delay.
Services support families and other caregiver’s in their efforts to promote optimal development in each child, by creatively developing strategies to help the child participate in the activities and routines that are of interest to the child and are most important to the family.
The New Vistas Adult Services Program operates within the Independent Living Philosophy providing four core Independent Living Services (IL) services - Advocacy (systemic and individual), Independent Livng Skills Training, Peer Support, and Information and Referral (I&R).
The Native American Liaison Program (NALP) is funded by NM DVR. The purpose of the program is to assist NM DVR, whose goal is to help people with disabilities to achieve a suitable employment outcome. The NALP does this working with tribal citizens living on 21 tribal areas.
