Human Systems Research
HSR is a private, nonprofit corporation dedicated to the pursuit of anthropological research through cultural resource management, historic preservation, oral history, and environmental conservation. The geographic focus of research is the Southwest with a central focus on southern New Mexico.
The goals of the corporation include stewardship and preservation of related resources through public education as a method of preserving and protecting limited cultural resources through increased public appreciation. Educational programs include:
1) HSR Quarterly Lecture series that is free and open to the public;
2) Field trips and tours to local areas of historic interest;
3) Opportunities to become a volunteer participating in archaeological field surveys and/or excavations and laboratory work;
4)New Mexico SiteWatch Program-a volunteer monitoring program coordinated by the New Mexico Historic Preservation Division matching local residents with nearby archaeological sites to prevent vandalism and monitor natural events.
