Mission Statement:

The Mission of the NMCL is to partner with and a create volunteer, community-based programs in New Mexico to facilitate the delivery of the foundational tools of reading, writing, and understanding for adults who read at or below a sixth grade level.

Primary Programs:

Operating assistance grants to adult literacy programs; materials grant funding.

Professional Program Directors' Association; orientation to literacy services and issues; New Mexico Resource Center special lending library; literacy tutor training; in-services; and consulting; and technical assistance for literacy programs and boards of directors; newsletter; research; special projects and initiatives; publications and reports; regional workshop conferences.

Annual Meeting, with workshops and awards/recognition of tutors, students, and literacy programs statewide; resource development; and public awareness.
