Mission Statement:

The mission of the New Mexico Association is to maximize the ability of New Mexico food banks to build a well nourished New Mexico.

Primary Programs:

The New Mexico Association of Food Banks consists of six member food banks that serve a network of more than 600 hunger relief agencies and programs around the state. The Association manages the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) for the state and also acquires and distributes more than 5,000,000 pounds of fresh produce every year. The Association operates under 5 guiding principles: Equity: Hungry people have equal rights to food no matter where they live Non-discrimination: Services to the hungry will be distributed without discrimination Accountability: Association members will be fully accountable to donors, the public and those they serve for the expenditure of all funds provided by the Association or from the government, businesses, foundations or individuals Transparency: The Association will provide information about its services and finances to any interested party Advocacy: The Association will work to draw attention to big picture solutions to hunger throughout New Mexico
