Helping Hands Hospice
The mission of Hospice is to improve the quality of life of the terminally ill patient while allowing the patient to die with dignity. The focus is on the palliative (comfort) care and relief of physical, emotional, spiritual, and social pain.
Care of the terminally ill with a life expectancy of 6 months or less. Hospice provides medications, medical equipment, and supplies related to the terminal illness. Nursing and aide services are provided in the patient's home to support a comforting environment. Hospice teaches the family/caregivers how to meet the patient's needs as the illness progresses and provides emotional support throughout the care. Hospice provides a Bereavement Program for 13 months following the death to help loved ones through the grieving process. Hospice care is paid for by Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance, most often without any co-pays or out of pocket expense to the family.
