Navigating The Cancer Journey
Applications are now available for Cancer Services of New Mexico’s Spring 2017 Family Cancer Retreat. This nationally recognized three-day educational program provides NM’s adult cancer patients/survivors and their loved ones with tools and information to navigate the cancer journey.
April 21-23, 2017
Marriott Pyramid North Hotel
Albuquerque, NM
What To Expect
The retreat will provide New Mexico’s adult cancer patients/survivors, their family members and loved ones who serve as their primary caregivers with a weekend of education, reflection, and rejuvenation in a relaxing and nurturing environment.
The retreat will focus on educating participants on the process of surviving cancer. Topics covered will range from the difficulties of handling the initial diagnosis, through coping with therapy, through a variety of medical and social topics relating to at-home care and the emotional issues associated with surviving.
The retreat will also provide participants with the opportunity to spend time with each other in informal sessions, speaking with and learning from others who are coping with similar issues. Supervised child care and recreational activities will be provided for children and teens during the educational sessions.
