Southwest Print Fiesta Coming September 3

Southwest Print Fiesta!

Printmaking in the street?

Mimbres Region Arts Council (MRAC) is starting a regional artist print festival, well actually, a print fiesta! Join MRAC in Silver City to celebrate original prints, the artists who create them, and the people who collect them. The Southwest Print Fiesta will take place Labor Day weekend on September 3rd and 4th in Silver City, NM.

Throughout the day, large-scale, hand carved artists blocks will be inked and placed on Yankie Street. Once inked, a 3,000-pound Silver Steamroller (think steamroller without the steam) will roll over the blocks to create large artist prints. See it to believe it!

Meet Mitch Lyons, fiesta artist-in-residence, watch printmaking demonstrations, and try free printmaking activities. Artist’s booths will offer fine art prints, letterpress creations, and more for sale. Start your art collection with affordable art with artists’ works starting at $10 and up!  Listen to Americana style music by local and regional artists. Enjoy delicious food and NM craft beer in the beer garden. Finish the day by dancing in the street with music and a light show provided by Knomad Colab from 8-11 pm.
