Kristin Rortvedt has been hired to the position of Executive Director for Ronald McDonald House Charities® of New Mexico. As the organizational leader, Rortvedt is responsible for implementation of policies set by the Board of Directors as well as financial, program and administrative management of the organization.
“Serving three years as a RMHC-NM Board Member and volunteer, Kristin is the ideal leader for RMHC-NM,” said Barbara Lewis, Board Chair. “She has a passion for the mission of helping families with ill children and a firm grasp of the fundamental operations of the organization. Kristin also brings many years of community engagement and nonprofit management experience to this position.”
For the past five years, Kristin has been the Community Liaison for PNM Resources managing the company-wide employee volunteer program as well as administering grant funding. She developed strong management and business skills as she worked with a multitude of nonprofits and employees throughout the state.
Prior to her work at PNM, Kristin spent four years with the Girl Scouts of New Mexico Trails developing systems and policies to ensure volunteer success and safety of the girls in the program.
“I feel good leaving the leadership of Ronald McDonald House Charities in Kristin’s capable hands,” said Sandy Mann, retiring CEO. “She has great skills, a warm personality and a vision for the organization that will provide more mission to the families who use our services.”
Rortvedt also enjoys giving back by volunteering in the community. She serves as Chair for the Corporate Volunteer Council of Central New Mexico, Advisory Board Member for Center for Nonprofit Excellence and a member of the United Way Young Leaders Society. Rortvedt is a member of the Leadership Albuquerque Alumni Association and Association for Fundraising Professionals.
Rortvedt holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from Minnesota State University Moorhead.
