Regaining Balance Retreat- Oct 22

Regaining Balance Retreat

The Regaining Balance Retreat for women veterans with post-traumatic stress and wives/female partners of vets with PTSD is a free, nonsectarian outreach program of Mountain Gate, a nonprofit Zen Buddhist practice center. During these retreats, we teach tools that can make a big difference in how we respond to stress, including the challenges of post-traumatic stress.

Each day is devoted to teaching a different tool: journaling-as-stress release, art-as-journaling, poetry-as-mindfulness. In addition, a very effective mindfulness-of-breath practice is taught and practiced each morning and evening, and during each day there is a walk on a private path in the adjacent Carson National Forest. There’s plenty of space in each day for rest and getting to know fellow women veterans attending the retreats, and there’s good food and companionship all around.

The next Regaining Balance Retreat is scheduled for October 22, 2017. For more information and to see the 2017 schedule of retreats, please visit our website
