Nonprofits Apply for Charity Gala Proceeds

 

Calling all local non-profits with a literacy or veteran component!
 
Albuquerque- September 5th, Mayor Richard J. Berry and First Lady Maria Berry announced the Charity Gala Committee has opened the bid process for local non-profits to apply for money generated by the yearly fundraiser. Every year the committee has a different category they focus on, this year they’ll be looking for agencies that support veterans or literacy. The Charity Gala is a special evening, dedicated to helping 501(c)(3) organizations continue their contributions to the community.
 
“The Albuquerque community is home to so many worthy organizations and causes, and with the current economy there is profound amount of need,” said First Lady Berry. “Our committee really does have their work cut-out for them.”
 
“We sincerely appreciate all the work that our non-profits and their volunteers do for the City of Albuquerque,” said Mayor Berry. “We’re eager to work with these organizations to improve the circumstances and opportunities for many in our community.”
 
Interested applicants will need to submit their proposal by October 31, 2012 at 5pm Mountain Standard Time. Apply at: http://www.cabq.gov/mayor/charity-gala/charity-gala-application.
 
The event will be held on Saturday, May 18, 2013, at the Albuquerque Convention Center, “Celebrating Route 66”.
