NACA is seeking educators and leaders to participate in the NISN Fellowship Program.
NACA Inspired Schools Network (NISN) is a network of newly started charter schools or Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) transitioning schools, inspired by the Native American Community Academy (NACA) founded here in Albuquerque, NM.
What Is The NISN Fellowship Program?
The NISN Fellowship Program prepares an educator to launch schools (charter or grant,) designed to serve Native American students and provide a rigorous curriculum dedicated to academically prepare students for college, while promoting culture, identity and health.
Fellows will learn to establish a community network that works with public education entities, BIE Tribal Departments of Education, and tribes to improve the current state of Native American education in our country. The Fellowship Program includes, leadership training, technical assistance and ongoing support in establishing schools, based on the NACA community led-design model.
Focus areas of the program include the mastering and demonstration of NISN’s 5 out-come driven learning strands.
