Mary Byron Project Invites Nominations for Awards for Innovative Domestic Violence Projects

Deadline: November 16, 2012. The Mary Byron Project's Celebrating Solutions Awards are presented annually to especially innovative programs in the United States that demonstrate promise in ending the generational cycle of domestic violence and serve as models for other programs across the country. The awards provide $10,000 in recognition of honorees' pioneering efforts. Recipients are not required to render any further services as a condition of receiving an award. The Mary Byron Project typically chooses four winners each year. To be eligible for an award, a program's primary focus must address the issue of intimate partner violence. The nominated program, the agency or organization, and the core components of the program being nominated must have been operating for a minimum of three years (established no later than September 2009 for the 2012-13 award year) and the program must be in existence when the nomination is made. The program must be part of a nonprofit 501(c) (3) or government agency. The program should be replicable or, if it is national in scope, have applications for individual communities, regardless of their size.
