2024-2025 Nonprofit Cohort Application
Groundworks New Mexico (GNM) is pleased to offer an exciting cohort opportunity for established and emerging New Mexico nonprofit leaders. GNM seeks applicants whose work is focused on improving outcomes for children and young people, early childhood care and education, K-12 education, opportunities for youth, and young families. This cohort is a pilot project with the aim of creating an equity-focused capacity building blueprint model to use for other social sector issue areas such as healthcare and the environment. Small grants to cover staff time will be provided to the organizations of participating cohort members upon project completion and travel stipends are available for the in-person session.

Incentives

- Unlimited, no cost access to Center for Nonprofit Excellence trainings, workshops, and webinars and free entry to GNM conferences during the project period
- One-on-one technical assistance throughout the project for participants and their organizations
- Small grants for staff time and travel stipends for those outside ABQ/Santa Fe area

Selection Process
Applications will be reviewed by GNM board and staff, prioritizing diverse representation from rural, urban, Tribal, and BIPOC communities across New Mexico.They seek candidates who are eager to learn and plan to apply the skills and knowledge gained to benefit their organizations, their communities, and the NM education sector.
Requirements
Before you begin this application, please review the cohort schedule to confirm your availability to participate. Convenings will take place on the first Wednesday of every other month, beginning in July 2024, from 10am - 12pm. The majority of meetings will take place over Zoom, with one or more opportunities for in person engagement. Cohort dates: July 10, September 11, November 13, January 8, March 12, and in-person in Albuquerque on or around May 13. Future schedule changes may occur with input from the cohort. Upon acceptance into the cohort, all participants will be asked to complete a brief online organizational capacity assessment to help identify strengths and challenges within their organizations. Assessment findings will guide individual action plans for each participating organization and inform a targeted curriculum for the entire cohort.
