A Few Things to Keep in Mind
1st: Eligibility
Please be sure that your organization is eligible to apply for a grant with UWCNM. You can access the 2017-18 Community Fund Program Grants Applicant Manual on our website.
2nd: 110% Rule
Returning agencies applying for the same program must confirm that their funding request is not more than 110% of the ideal recommendation of the Grant Review Panel that reviewed their application last year. This rule does not apply to new agencies, agencies that have never applied for UWCNM funds, or returning agencies that are applying for funds for a new program.
This is the amount the Grant Review Panel recommended UWCNM award if there was sufficient funding; this is not necessarily what the agency was actually awarded (due to limited funding). The recommended ‘ideal award’ reflected what the Allocation Panel felt was reasonable and justified based on their assessment of the program proposal. This policy applies to all agencies that received recommendations for funding from their Grant Review Panels, whether the agency received the recommended amount, less than the recommended amount, or received no award due to lack of funding.
This policy does not apply to agencies that applied but did not receive a funding recommendation for 2016-17 support. These agencies start anew, but we strongly suggest that requests be reasonable and fully justified.
For more information on ideal and impact recommendation amounts please take a look at the Grant Process Document on our website.
Trainings
Our team is excited to announce that we have created training videos for aspects of the grant process. You can access the videos on the How to Apply page of our website.
We will also offer one in-person training session on the Financial Standards Review portion of the process at our offices on November 16th from 9am – 12pm (register here). Agencies that pass the Financial Standards Review will have an opportunity to attend an in-person training on January 31st from 9am-11am about developing a strong program proposal.
