Project Description: 

The BackInUse program collects and distributes reusable durable medical equipment (wheelchairs, rollaters, walkers, hospital beds, etc.). We have held several public collection events with great success - collecting hundreds of pieces of equipment that is then sanitized and given to people who can't afford the equipment. The collection day will be on October 26th at our main offices in Albuquerque. We need people to help receive the equipment, complete forms on the equipment, and do minor cleaning of equipment.

We block out our parking lot on Osuna and manage a drive-through event. People bring all kinds of stuff and everyone usually comes within about a 2 hour period and it gets very busy!

Nonprofit/Agency will provide: 
Space in our parking lot at 3900 Osuna RD NE. We will be fully responsible for safety and setting up the parking lot. We will have safety vests, water, forms etc. We will provide everything needed for the event. We will also do lots of publicity leading up the event. we will also have our trucks there for loading equipment into and we then take to our storage facility.

Additional Requirements: 
Volunteers should be able to work safely in the parking lot. Ability to meet and greet the public. Completion of simple paper work on all donated equipment. Some equipment can be heavy such as power wheelchairs, hospital beds, but we will have staff there to help.
