Agency Description: 
Reading Works is a community adult literacy program in Albuquerque. We offer free one-on-one or small group tutoring to adults to teach them to read and write; to learn English as a Second Language; or to prepare to take the GED exam. We are young and growing. Last FY, we had 51 clients and 44 volunteer-tutors. We expect to double that in the upcoming FY.
Position Description: 
1. Treasurer. We need a CPA to serve as treasurer. Our current treasurer will provide training and orientation. Responsible for monthly financial reports, preparing 990EZ, assisting Board with budgeting. Sits on Executive Committee. 2. General Board Member. We need a general board member. Teaching experience or experience in literacy is not required. We need individuals with business or non-profit experience.
Expectations: 
Board meets once a month on a Saturday for 2 hours; take on one project (such as help with a fund-raising project or manage our speakers bureau); average time per month for a non-officer position is 5 hours.
