The Gynecological Cancer Awareness Project foundation was created for women with gynecological cancer. Our mission is to empower women who are fighting gynecological cancer by providing education and support -- helping them to live a healthy and inspired life.All women with gynecological cancers receive loving care, peer support, prevention/treatment education, and a newsletter, with community support through events, and direct financial aid for qualified applicants.
Position Description:
The Board is responsible for overall policy and direction of the Gynecological Cancer Awareness Project, and delegates responsibility for day-to-day operations to the Executive Director and committees. The Board shall meet 4 times per year and the term is for 2 years. The board receives no compensation other than reasonable expenses.
Expectations:
We recruit board members who bring special strong interest and expertise to GCAP and are willing to: Attend all board and committee meetings and functions, such as special events.
Be informed about GCAP’s mission, services, policies, and programs. Serve on committees. Annually make a personal financial contribution to the organization. Inform others about the organization. Assist the board in carrying out its fiduciary responsibilities.
