Agency Description:
Cuidando Los Niños (CLN) is a 501(c) 3 nonprofit, founded in 1989, that serves families with children under the age of six experiencing homelessness. CLN has three core programs: early childhood development, family support services and community outreach and advocacy.
Currently, one in three homeless persons is a member of a family with children. In 2010, more than 16,000 children experienced homelessness in New Mexico, 7,000 under the age of six.
Position Description:
To serve as a voting member of the Board of Directors for Cuidando Los Niños, developing policies, procedures and regulations, monitoring financial performance and agency programs. Marketing, public relations,fund development, community business and healthcare relationships especially desirable.
Expectations:
3-year term
Time Expectations:
• Attend monthly board meetings, held on the 4th Wednesday of every month, except December (and/or as adjusted for other scheduling conflicts).
• Participate actively in one or more committees of the Board--Advocacy and Outreach, Finance and Resource Development & Planning.
• Attend scheduled Board retreats, planning meetings, workshops or other Board development activities.
• Attend, support and participate in special events.
