Agency Description:
CSNM was formed in May, 2001, to provide services to reduce cancer suffering for NM families. We look broadly at addressing gaps in cancer related services, while maintaining a 100% focus on NM. With no full-time staff and no physical office our programs are developed and led by 300+ volunteers, supported by part-time program managers. Admin. expenses are less than 5% of revenues. Board meets 5 times/year - a 4-hour strategic planning meeting in January & 4 90-minute meetings throughout the year. Other expectations are described above (e.g., monthly reconciliations, quarterly financial statements, annual 990s, assistance w/ budgeting each Fall). Board Members are encouraged to participate in CSNM programs to get an understanding of our clients and the services we provide; however, time required for this is completely dependent on Board Member's availability/interest.
Position Description:
• Member of the CSNM Board of Directors
• Regularly attend board meetings and important related meetings
• Ensure appropriate financial policies and processes are in place
• Assist with preparation of the CSNM budget
• Produce 990s and quarterly/annual financial statements and present them to the board
• Review/approve monthly reconciliations vs. bank statements
• Make financial information available to the public, as appropriate
