New Mexico Healthier Weight Council
Agency Description:
The NMHWC has 380 statewide members and partners working to reduce and prevent obesity in New Mexico. The Board is volunteer and staff are contract, including Managing Director. Applying for 501c3. Have fiscal agent and variety of funding in place.
Position Description:
Two year term April-March. Active Board member; assist in managing finances and annual budget prep with Director; present finance info at meetings; assist Director in development and review of finance policies/procedures.
Expectations:
Attends bimonthly Board meetings and three annual Council meetings. Makes commitment to participate in committee work. Stays informed about Council and committee matters, prepares for and presents financial info at meetings. Participates in strategic planning, annual organizational evaluation, and fund raising efforts.
