Special Events Manager

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Oversee and manage logistical aspects of fundraising events including but not limited to our Evening of Hope Gala, Tee Up to Cure Diabetes Golf Tournament and Walk to Cure Diabetes.
Evaluate and expand fundraising programs and volunteer participation. Seek out new corporate sponsors and develop plans to explore new revenue opportunities. Manage and maintain accurate and complete financial records.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. 5+ years of relevant fundraising, marketing, strategic planning and coordinating special events experience. Must have volunteer management experience. Well disciplined, organized, and a self-starter that is extremely resourceful. Effectively multi-task, establishes priorities, and work in a fast paced environment. Team player that has the ability to interface with all levels of staff and volunteers. Must develop and maintain relationships.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Ability to travel locally required (some out-of-town travel necessary). Occasional evening and weekend work required as needed.
Excellent written and oral communication skills with an aptitude for presentation delivery. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook and Publisher. Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop & Illustrator) Preferred Qualifications: Bilingual, Sales experience.
