Main Areas of Responsibility:
Performs inpatient and outpatient medical management of shelter pets and client-owned pets. Practices veterinary medicine in accordance with Animal Humane Donor-subsidized Veterinary Clinic medical standards, the New Mexico Veterinary Practice Act, and the policies and procedures of our shelter. Performs indicated medical and surgical procedures for shelter pets, client-owned pets, and feral cats.
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Performs high-volume, high-quality sterilization surgeries in accordance with the needs of our Adoptions department, feral cat program and as scheduled for privately owned pets.
Carries responsibility as the primary surgeon on special surgical cases on regularly assigned days; performing the surgical procedures and the follow-up for dentistry, soft tissue surgeries and orthopedic surgeries.
Uses and maintains control of drugs and supplies in accordance with all applicable laws and Animal Humane policies.
