Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Dismas House New Mexico is a small nonprofit organization providing a 90 day transitional re-entry program for motivated formerly incarcerated adults to transition successfully into society.
Responsibilities include:
• Evening check-in of residents and monitoring of curfews;
• Welcoming community dinner program volunteers 4 to 5 nights a week;
• Maintaining communication with program staff;
• and ensuring a safe, compassionate, welcoming home for our residents.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Dismas House interns are able to work or attend school while fulfilling their commitment to the community.

Interns have the opportunity to grow in understanding of the causes of social injustice and directly contribute to the re-socialization of disadvantaged individuals motivated to change their lives.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Position includes room, board, and a monthly stipend. Preferred commitments of 3, 6 or 12 months, but will consider semester long internships, as well.

Dismas House is a drug and alcohol free community that respects community members from all faiths.

Dismas House does not work with sex offenders, ex-offenders with gang affiliation, arsonists or individuals with a history of extreme violence.
