Main Areas of Responsibility: 

This position is the key staff person responsible for assisting abortion seekers who are traveling to Las Cruces, NM for abortion access and is also responsible for recruiting and leading the team of volunteers that provide the housing, transportation to and from appointments, and other practical assistance needs for abortion seekers. Leads volunteer trainings and orientations, coordinates retention and recognition, and actively promotes volunteer opportunities within the community.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

There is also a requirement that the Navigator/Coordinator live in or near Las Cruces, NM and has a reliable professional vehicle. This is a part-time position 20/hours per week paid hourly at $24 – 28 per hour depending on experience, with a flexible work schedule including some remote work options. Some nontraditional work hours including evenings and weekends, will be required.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Train and manage all Las Cruces based volunteers, Serve as the communications link between LC volunteers and NM RCRC staff, Create and implement ways to appreciate volunteers, Track and report volunteer hours, Support clients traveling from out of state to access abortion care; manage online support requests and data input, Provide resources for practical support care for patients accessing abortions (transportation, lodging, gas stipends, and more), Follow-up with clients while in NM and support their daily needs.
