Natural Helpers Coordinator

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Primary responsibilities include developing and implementing curriculum for Natural Helpers (NH) peer-helping-peer program, working closely with school administration and adult sponsors (mentors) for each school site, training NH sponsors and student leaders using NH curriculum, coordinating all facets of NH training retreats, support NH sponsors throughout year with follow-up meetings as needed, collect, organize, and prepare evaluation data for grant reports.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Engage in community outreach and program promotion throughout northern New Mexico, lead school-based groups focused on Inner and Outer Life Skills development and mentor Sky graduate interns, respond to requests for classroom and community trainings on Suicide Awareness and Prevention and The Sky Center's Toolkit for Wellbeing, serve as a Postvention team member responding to various schools' needs following a sudden death of a student or staff member.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Candidate must possess leadership initiative, public speaking strengths and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Bilingual a plus, valid NM Driver’s License and some travel within the state required. Bachelor’s degree in related field and experience working with youth.
