Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Job Summary
The Major Gifts Officer's responsible for the execution of fundraising programs that support current and future operating budgets and special projects. Fundraising programs include, but are not limited to, major gifts, planned giving, non-cash gifts (donor advised funds, QCDs and stocks.)

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

1. Develop an intimate understanding of our complex shelter operations and keep up to date on our diverse programming.
2. Work with Director of Development and Marketing (DD&M) to set and reach budget goals and objectives.
3. Work closely with DD&M to implement and monitor a fiscal plan that includes measurable goals as well as strategies and timelines for identifying, researching, soliciting and cultivating donors and prospects.

Other Information/Requirements: 

• Education
Undergraduate degree in a related field such as communications, public relations, marketing, or business.
• Experience
A minimum of five years of proven success in the areas of fundraising and development as identified in the job summary. Ideal candidate will have positive working relationships with major funding sources locally and throughout New Mexico, as well as influential social and business/corporate contacts within the Albuquerque community.
