GRANT WRITER (PART-TIME CONTRACTOR)

Part-Time
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

Take lead in writing high quality grant proposals and reports that support the mission and work of NMELC; support other grant-related work and activities such as grant tracking, research, editing, revising, etc.; research and track prospective funders on a continual basis; and take responsibility in ensuring all grant proposals and reports are submitted on a timely basis and ability to work with quick turnaround as needed. Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Experience working with nonprofits, and knowledge of philanthropy and foundations; demonstrated success in securing grants and writing reports; excellent writing skills that require minimal editing; willingness to learn from NMELC staff, especially related to environmental issues and ability to understand complex issues quickly; and ability to receive constructive feedback that will help to strengthen reports and proposals.

Other Information/Requirements: 

At least 5 years of grant writing experience (preferably in the nonprofit sector). Environmental, environmental justice/social justice education, background, and/or experience.
