Finance Director

Main Areas of Responsibility: 

AP/AR; invoices and government grant reimbursements; Social Enterprise operations; timesheets; contributions to 403b; benefits selections, payments, and withholdings; grant budget support for proposals, implementation, and reporting of government and foundation grants; mgmt of grant portfolio; support for staff including bdgt to actuals, bdgt revisions, understanding use of cost centers; oversee internal controls including expenditures, income, separation of duties, procurement etc.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Coding expenses; corporate filings; 1099; SUTA; external financial audit; oversee contract labor; financial reporting; with external accounting firm develop chart of accounts and fund accounting system for detailed, flexible, and timely grant and program reporting; develop and implement Fiscal Policies and operational systems that support growth and organizational maturity; participate in existing Capital Campaign land acquisition project

Other Information/Requirements: 

B.S. in accting/finance preferred; min 8 yrs accounting experience, 3 of which must be in nonprofit accounting; Quickbooks & Excel; knowledge of FASB standards, nonprofit accounting, internal controls; foundation and government grant experience; Social Enterprise and food business programming a plus; exceptional communication skills, ability to present and discuss finances with a wide range of individuals; passion for mission driven work; knowledge/interest in local food systems, food sovereignty, nutrition a plus
