Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Executive Director will develop and sustain effective relationships with volunteer Boards of Directors, lead the chapter in major donor cultivation and manage all chapter staff, including event, outreach and administrative functions.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

This Executive Director reports directly to JDRF’s West Regional Director and works very closely with the volunteer Boards of Directors in Phoenix, Tucson and Albuquerque. The position oversees a paid staff of 15 in three offices, including operations, administrative and development/event staff, as well as an extensive volunteer organization. S/he will also interface closely with JDRF professionals at both the national and regional level, although there is no direct reporting relationship.

Other Information/Requirements: 

Minimum of 10 years of professional experience that reflect a clear record of achievement in a complex, mission-driven organization, at least 5 years in an executive/supervisory capacity.

Demonstrated success in fundraising with a particular focus on Major Donors, Corporate Sponsorship and Events.

Proven experience and demonstrated ability to partner with a strong and active Board of Directors and other key leaders is critical.
