Director of Planned Giving

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

The Director of Planned Giving (DPG) is responsible for directing and growing an established University- wide planned giving program. Working as part of a team, the DPG will identify, cultivate and maintain a portfolio of planned giving prospects, prepare confidential gift plans and proposals, and close gifts. The DPG will work closely with members of the development team, helping development professionals identify and develop planned giving options and opportunities with other prospects.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

Desired qualifications include knowledge of income, gift and estate tax law; knowledge of estate planning techniques; in-depth familiarity with the Crescendo program; enhanced interpersonal, analytical and organizational skills; extensive verbal and writing skills; ability to work independently and simultaneously manage several ongoing tasks and projects.

Other Information/Requirements: 

The qualified candidate will have a baccalaureate degree or higher, minimum of 5 years experience in Planned Giving and fundraising, along with 2 or more years experience in a management level position.
