Main Areas of Responsibility: 

WESST is seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Development Director to lead and implement key fundraising initiatives that support our mission to empower New Mexico’s entrepreneurs. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, this role focuses on managing grant writing and reporting, growing the annual fund, executing donor stewardship strategies, and supporting fundraising events and communications.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

The Development Director works closely with the Marketing Director and broader development team to drive revenue, foster strong donor relationships, and ensure effective administration of donor data and reporting systems. The ideal candidate brings proven nonprofit fundraising experience, strong communication skills, and a collaborative, self-directed approach.

Other Information/Requirements: 

The candidate is expected to bring 5 years of nonprofit fundraising experience through any combination of education, professional, or lived experience. Proven experience in grant writing, grant management, and securing major gifts or multi-year pledges. High ethical standards in fundraising and financial management. Proficiency in Microsoft 365, donor databases (Kindful preferred), and CRM systems. Valid driver’s license required.
