Consumer Outreach Coordinator

Job Description
Main Areas of Responsibility: 

HANM seeks a highly committed individual with a strong background in coalition building, grassroots organizing, community education and advocacy. The Community Outreach Coordinator will report to the Executive Director of HANM.

Additional Areas of Responsibility: 

•Recruit new organizations and maintain relationships with HANM members and volunteers.
•Design and implement a communications and action strategy.
•Represent the agency at assigned coalition, leadership, government and community meetings.
•Build strategic relationships with government, health care decision makers, policymakers and advocate for health policies.
•Organize consumers in health care policy meetings.

Other Information/Requirements: 

•Excellent oral and written communication.
•Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings and weekends.
•Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
•Ability to meet deadlines and to work well under pressure.
•Must have valid New Mexico driver’s license and car.
•Travel across the state is required.
•Spanish bilingual skills preferred.

Work hours:
Exempt full time position with benefits but subject to grant and organizational funding.
