Main Areas of Responsibility:
Position Summary: This position's primary function is to support Media Literacy Project's communications and marketing work and reports directly to the Communications & Marketing Director.
Responsibilities:
o Assist with projects as needed
o Pitch stories to journalists
o Write content for projects as assigned
o Assist with comm. and marketing planning
o Support social media and web activity
o Develop and maintain media archives and press database
o Maintain media contacts
Additional Areas of Responsibility:
Minimum Qualifications:
o Experience or coursework in communications, journalism and/or marketing
o Interest in social justice and/or non-profits
o Comfortable working with MLP's clients and constituents, including youth, people of color, immigrant and LGBTQ communities
o Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
o Strong written and oral communication skills
o Ability to work independently
o Applicants must have a vehicle and valid driver's license
